Oak finish paper damaged

Unfortunately following a small incident, I need to make a repair on the simile oak finish of the entrance panel. Any suggestion on the source of the material, technique etc.?
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Can you please post a photo of the damage so that we can assess the best way? Someone just recently installed wall paper over a damaged wall. Depends on size of damage, etc...

Allen, Escape gave me a roll of oak tape and I don't have it anymore.. I thought I gave it to you. Remember I showed you where I used it on the driver side bench where someone fixing a water line damaged the bench surface.

If it is a 'small incident', perhaps some faux oak tape like this could work?

https://www.amazon.com/Creative-inge...08&sr=8-4&th=1

There are several different shades of oak tape so a quick call to ETI tomorrow might help clarify the shade or perhaps someone here has could advise? Antique oak? Natural Oak? (My guess is Natural Oak.) I recall seeing pictures from others on this forum who have used this tape but I can't find the threads. If it were me, I would be tempted to buy 2 or 3 shades, see which one matched the best, then return the unused ones. Best, -Bea

I rebuilt the dinette benches on our '19. Also replaced some of the molding here and there. For these I used oak and oak plywood with clear polyurethane. It matched well. Might work if you need larger repairs.

I got my "oak" tape from ETI. If you cut it so you don't have right angles, it will better blend in. I could have done a better job of matching pattern.

For those that got the 'healing tape' from ETI, is there any information on the paper backer tape? Maybe we can buy it locally....

Dear jkavanagh,
I was just on the ET site and could not find any offer other than fullntrailers. Where did you order the tape, on-line? Knowing will help me next time

Escape does sell the tape by the foot.

I would order from ETI to ensure a perfect match. If it's not perfect it will stand out like a sore thumb.
I initially bought some crayons made for woodworking. Came in a pack of six colours and none of them matched.
I can't find the info now, but the luan plywood came from a company in Calgary ( as I recall ) that only sells wholesale.

I have always asked for a scrap piece of wood when ordering another Escape, maybe 24x24 and I normally find it under the mattress. Soon I'll have enough to complete another Escape ......

Just a construction note:
If you ever put masking tape on the wall to mark a hole...say to cut out for a speaker...when done, always pull the tape off towards the hole.
If you pull it away from the hole, it could take the wood grain coating with it...in a strip much longer than the tape was covering.

OK, they sell it by the foot... but how? Do you have to call them? I have not found on their web page (escapetrailer.com) a place/link where you can order this item.

Call, ask for parts & service. Or if you know someone that is going to Chilliwack - have them pick it up for you.

I emailed them with a few requests and they got back to me with the info and price. They were very quick with their response. If you get a small tear in the vinyl they have someone that can repair it on Tuesdays. You do need an appointment.
