Outside quick connect won't connect

Okay a problem that has probably been answered but a search by me han't turned up. I got back from the Pineknot rally on Tuesday and we tried to winterize but couldn't get the outside shower quick connect to connect to anything, we tried the goose neck spigot we purchased and the hose that came with it, neither would connect. Then tried to open it with a screw driver and nothing, sprayed it with WD40 and nothing after waiting. Cold weather is here and we want to try again tomorrow before the cold is here to stay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes pressure was bled by opening up the taps to the sinks. Hot water tank was emptied. Did I miss something?

How about a little heat from a hair dryer? Maybe there’s some ice in there. I don’t have this feature so no real experience.

Had that issue with propane quick connect. There are little ball bearings that can(will) become corroded. That kept the collar from locking on.

Steven: These get jammed sometimes with a little dirt or debris and they do say to tap down inside with a screwdriver which it sounds like you tried. So you don’t slow down your winterizing just unscrew the metal quick disconnect assembly. It’s tight so you may have to pop the clear plastic hot/cold cover off one of the faucet handles and use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the handle to gain some access space to get an open ended wrench on the quick disconnect piece. Once removed you can then flow antifreeze through the faucet. With the fitting off of the trailer you can try to free it up. If you can’t get it free then replace it with: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories.../PF247008.html
