Do you see many instances where you are dumping and there is not water available? Sure it may not be potable but for cleanup I would rather use the dump station water than dip into my water supply.

Otherwise the only negatives that come to my mind are minor, but include cost, hole in trailer, winterizing additional line.

And so glad I read this thread so we can understand the issues and ask during orientation for any addition recommendations - or if they think it is OK to tap the ball with a screw driver. As usual, I am sure that is "depending" on the skill and care of the user !!! Thanks everyone.

I wish I had thought to do that.

I have thought about this as I've seen people have their trailers built with the water port on the passengers side. For me the best of both worlds is a true shower on the driver's side (to keep all the water away from the door and under awning area) and install a hot/cold water port (current ETI offering) on the passengers side for incidental use with the flexible spout that Jim Bennett and others have added. I added a hot/cold port to a Scamp and may consider doing the same. I need to scope it out but it shouldn't be too difficult on the 19 with the sink right there on the passengers side where I would put it.

I've had real good luck using a little smear of this silicone grease on the plug-in fitting. Really seems to help.

Prior to that had used a steady push on a long 1/4" bolt pressing on the valve inside the trailer fitting. Seemed more discrete that a (sharp-edged) screwdriver and hammer.

We had outside showers installed on both sides of our 19. Sometimes one side works best. Sometimes the other. This way we don’t have to choose. Plus, if you get long enough hoses, you can have water fights, even when you’re “dry” camping ;-)
