Overhead Bin Size
We are thinking of using plastic bins in some of the overheads in a no doubt futile effort to reduce clutter (clutter always seems to win). Does anyone know the maximum size of bin that would fit? Thanks.

We did the same thing for stuff, Stephen. Works great for keeping small stuff in place, even for socks and underwear in the clothes cabinet.
We I would do though, is not to buy too much ahead, and instead see what fits your needs and the space. Heck, it took us a couple years to organize our 19 to what we felt was the ultimate arrangement.
We did use bins of varying sizes in most storage spaces.

Hi: stephen99... "Bin there done that". Declutter is ok for today... but tomorrow is another day. We use Dollar $tore bins... but make sure the handles don't stick out to far. May your trips to the Dollar $tore be fruitful and multiply. Alf

For our first trip, picking up the trailer from Chilliwalk, we brought baby wipe containers. Didn't want to buy containers that won't fit. Surprisingly I am very happy with them, and hold more stuff then any one can imagine.
With the new Escape model, you might want to be careful buying containers ahead of pick up, as the new style awning reduces the amount of space in the upper cabinets.

We might have one container in an overhead, the rest is filled with such as clothing, towels etc. That container likely holds personal items, like meds or makeup. It is sized for the items it needs to hold, not for the size of the cabinet ( other than it can't be too large to fit ).
We keep light weight objects in the upper cabinets when possible. One holds snack foods for instance. I don't see any purpose in putting chip bags in a container ( which takes up space ).
Where we do use containers is the under bench storage. They are all different sizes, depending on contents. I have one, for instance, for chargers, remotes, cords etc. Another has 3M hook adhesive pads, double-sided tape, Velcro, etc.
If you get all matchy-matchy, you won't remember what's in what container.
It's easy to lift the lid and pull out the box you need.
In any event, you can find containers anywhere, so I'd start with a couple for personal items and add as you find you need them and as you figure out where things go.

Thanks for all the ideas. Appreciate it. Can you give me a rough idea of depth and height of the overhead openings? 12 inches deep? 6 inches high? Doesn't need to be precise.

Like Marry said, the new trailers lose some space due to the new awning attachment. When I was at ETI measuring the cabinets, I roughly measured that it went from something like appx 12" in front (don't quote me on that as I don't have my notes in front of me as they're buried deep in a pile of papers - today is sorting and filing day; maybe) to 5" in the back.
I'm just gonna wait until I get The Trailer and will start looking around at what all will fit after I get the measurements for my trailer. Who knows, it might vary a bit between each trailer and awning brand. I dunno, but I figured that was better than getting stuff that won't fit.
Besides I still have other stuff on my To Buy List. Which is getting whittled down over time, but not completely.

Thanks, Laura. I found some dimensions you posted in the Lots of Photos thread. Looks like my guess was close. 12 inches deep and a bit over 6 inches high. Good enough to get me going.

This doesn't have to do with the upper cabinet sizes, but with the access. We had ETI install a wider cabinet door on the upper cabinet in the back. 36" wide. This makes a huge difference to get stuff in and out. Really recommended! Might want to consider this option.

Sounds like a good idea but with the build sheet already signed off it would be an expensive option.

Had it signed off more then once, and still was able to make changes. As long as it isn't passed your build sheet ready date I don't think it matters. At least it didn't for me. Sarah was pretty easy about this.

Last I knew the build sheet lockout date was something like 6 weeks before the completion date.

You can have dividers made any size you want. First person to mail me a template for the new 21 with the inset for the awning (so I can make a router template) gets one free...

I originally thought the same thing that Stephen did, but found out otherwise when I wanted to make changes. So, yeah, I made some changes to the build sheet since I first "signed" off on it in January. It didn't cost me the extra 200 bucks either. However, it will now since I've officially signed off on it last Friday. On your build sheet is the "deadline for confirmation" date. That's the last date you can make any changes to it without costing you more money, from what I understand. It's 3 months before your completion date. I also found out that I had to pay more for one option as they had raised the price. I thought I had locked in all the prices by signing off on it earlier in the year, but I guess not.
