I'm pretty sure that insulating the cavity above the light will fix this problem. The LED Lights draw so little that it wouldn't take much of a voltage leak to turn them on. Mine were on weakly as well - definitely not full power.
I'm also going to use dielectric grease on the connections which should help seal them. Will seal the hole in the vinyl with tape as well. Doing the rest of my overhead lights today. Might as well - cold weather camping is a fact of life here
