Power Plug Cover E19

On my new to us E19, we have the ETI round hinged power plug receptacle cover. Removable power cord attaches to male plug receptacle. This flap does not have a positive lock and while towing can be fluttering underway.
Is there something missing here?

Try pushing it closed a little harder. It should "click" closed. Also check that the gasket between the trailer & the receptacle is not getting in the way.

I wore the nub that holds it closed off on my 17 after a couple of years & Marinco sent me a new one. A bit of a project to replace, but that cured the problem.

I guess I have been to light with pushing cover. Going outside now and trying a bit harder to see if I get same results.

I had the same problem and pushing on it didn't work. ETI suggested to make a fist and give it a bump with the end of your fist. Has worked every time since for me.

I have related problem. my cover is good, but one of the prongs is loose, should I be concerned? see pic, arrow is pointing to loose prong.

trailer is almost 2 years old and Escape tells me this part only has one year warranty. what to do?, should I replace it? any comments welcomed. thanks

As long as the electrical connection on the inside is tight, and you can still attach & twist the connector, I wouldn't be all that concerned. If you start seeing an open ground (it is the ground connection you are pointing at) or it jams during attempts to plug in, time to shop for a replacement.

The same pin does the same thing on my 2017 21 and has been doing it since new. It might be loose to make it easier to align all three pins...

Did you tighten the 3 screws seen in the picture. they hold the receptacle together and if loose the pin will be loose.

The screws hold the cover in place, but do not tighten the individual pins. Mine are tight & the ground pin is and has been loose since new.
