Preventing Stone Chips

Has anyone tried Rock Tamers? http://www.mudflaps.com/ They get very good reviews and appear to be easy on/off by attaching only to the draw bar.

Re: Preventing Stone Chips

This actually looks like something that should work really well on full-sized trucks. I don't know though how this would fly with medium- or small-sized trucks. Looks like this could be too big for those more petite TV's. I have seen one in action before on a full-sized truck! Quite large item that is.

Re: Preventing Stone Chips

Hi: Bob120...That looks to be a better system of attachment. Won't work with the 5.0 as we don't have a trailer hitch to attach to!!! We inherited a bolt on set of flaps but they're to much trouble to put on the truck and I think would lower our fuel mileage a lot. Alf p.s. What about a "Grass Skirt"?

Re: Preventing Stone Chips

Thanks for the link, Bob! I showed this to my husband and he ordered them right away. Pretty much just what he was looking for and at a good price. Hopefully we'll get them before the Escape Rally and can test them out on a long trip...

Re: Preventing Stone Chips

That looks really good Bob. Easier than adding something to your trailer (metal protectors). I just gave Hokie a bath this AM and noticed some rock chips on her front corners right behind the wheels. I have regular mud flaps, and I'm sure they help, but not totally able to prevent the damage. I'm gonna look a little closer. I have a 2" hitch on the back of my TV, so it'd work just fine. Thanks.
