Problems with converter replacement

We replaced the converter in our 2011 Escape 17B yesterday and everything is working except i) the pump switch and the tell-tale lights monitoring battery and tank-levels light are dead altho the pump switch still activates the pump, ii) the rectangular area at the top of the dvd/cd/clock combo and the power switch icon are illuminated as expected but not the controls below for clock, radio, cd/dvd functions, and the fridge is not working on a.c. altho we are hoping that is due to a blown fuse.

Any ideas will be most gratefully received!

Martin.

What did you actually replace, just the converter board or the whole unit to include the distribution panel? What did you replace the converter with, brand and model?

Converter replacement

Hello Bob,
We replaced the whole unit with one of the same, a WFCO Ultra III Distribution Center, WF-8900 Series, model no. according to the casing FP-01 or FP-01B, supplied by Escape.

Does the fridge work on either battery or gas? if so the 12vdc to it is okay just leaving the 120vac, which may be the breaker or the connection to it. The others sound like 12vdc, I;d verify all the fuses in the distribution panel. If those are okay you need to figure out which one of the 12vdc circuits goes to the devices that don't work, again it could be that connection to the distribution panel.

I can look at mine to see which provides juice to the tank sensor panel but it's a 2014 5.0TA, it may be different, and I don't have a radio. Ohm out the fuses first.

It seems likely that there are two wires to the panel for the pump switch, plus two more (+12 volts and negative or "ground") to run the indicator light and monitor (plus wires to the tank sensors which should not have been changed by the power centre replacement). If the negative (or "ground") wire is not properly connected, but the pump switch wires are still connected, the pump would work but not the monitor or illumination of the pump switch.

This would be easier with a wiring diagram, but there is not one available from Escape. A forum member (Steve - st3v3) did create one for his Escape 15A; it is available in the Files collection as 15A Wiring Diagram. Of course details vary by model, by year, and by installed options and customizations. Unfortunately, this one does not include the monitor panel wiring.

If you haven't already, verify the DC voltage.

We checked the ground connection and that's OK but haven't got to the route of the problem yet.
