Just got a note back from Tech Support @ Geocel, makers of Proflex in regards to how to renmove the hardened product.
"The only way to remove it would be to use sharp tools or a knives. A solvent will not be able to remove it."
I'll try trimming off what I can then using paint thinner once the weather improves.

Going back to what Jim mentioned earlier, Bob - I doubt that paint thinner (mineral spirits) would be near hot enough to remove ProFlex after removing most of it by tool. I'd try something with way more VOCs, like acetone.

I'd be in trouble if I kept that Good Stuff in the shop, my saws don't stop if you stick your finger in them.

Most of the missing segments light up when you actuate the brake or turn signal, but not all of them.

From the photo (and as suggested by Eddie's posts) it looks like the driver's side upper tail lamp has failed, and Escape put a stop/turn/tail lamp in the centre ID position - it is glowing (dimly) from all of the LED locations, not just three as it should be. If this is the case, you could remove the (presumably fully functional) 47-54-001 tail lamp from the middle, use it to replace the failed one on the driver's side, and buy and install a proper (and cheaper) 47-54-002 ID lamp in the middle. Yes, I realize that is twice the work, but the ID lamp would be cheaper to buy than a tail lamp, and it would correct the lighting.

Yes, much more work, Proflex is not easy to remove. I have a replacement on order.

Bob- let us know how it goes- the 21 owner from TX ...the AZ bar dude*or was it NY....said the wires were so short it made replacing difficult. Hopefully they left you more.
