Since propane or butane is often used as a propellent for hair spray and many other pressurized products, it is no wonder that they set off the propane detector...
I replaced mine ok for a year or two then started again bought a different type it plugs in no issues with it can be converted to hard wire but I haven’t done it it works and no false alarms.
It has been 3 full days since the installation of the new alarm and all is quiet! It normally would have gone off by now, usually in 24 hours…..looks like I had a defective unit.
I got an email from my storage yard neighbor that our alarm was sounding off.
When I was removing it to check the manufacture date, a small spider came out to see what was going on. So I sent it on its way, vacuumed the alarm and blew some compressed air over it and replaced it.There was a small piece of web that I removed.
When we are living in the trailer or when it's in storage I usually open one window a little and the ceiling vent a little as well to try and avoid any fumes build up. This time I didn't. So I don't know if it was Miss Muffet's friend or lack of ventilation.
The manufacture date was mis 2021 so I don't think it was alarm failure. We'll see if my belief is correct.

There’s a vent hose that comes off the battery box. Mane sure that the connection putty where the hose goes trough the plastic battery box and where the hose hooks up to the exterior vent assembly is pliable, complete and sealing. If hose has hose clamps make sure they are tight. Check the vent to make sure it’s clear.
All easy enough to do on our 21 at least.
