Propane Cover Access Flap

I lost the flap on the propane cover. The trailer is 2021 model year. I know I have seen discussions about this but can't find them.

I don't find a manufacturer name or model number on the cover. Does anyone know how to get just the flap.

I think I can buy the whole cover for around $50. If I have to do this, is there one that is better than the others. The one that I had was sort of broken. One of the three hinge tabs was broke.

Thanks,
Bob

No clue on finding just a lid. You did have yours's mounted in the right direction. If you drill two holes in your new lid in line with the square holes in the cover, you can insert two zip ties loosely as safety backups for your hinges.

Found this if you have a Camco cover.

This is a common problem with the Camco cover. I was able to buy the replacement top access panel from a local RV parts store and they had lots in stock.

If you're feeling a little lazy here's a link for one from Amazon.

Yup…like this. Probably one of the cheapest and fastest modifications someone can do.

Thank you everyone! I visited the local Camper World. No joy so I looked at the Amazon link provided by Steven M and it looked just like what I wanted. I ordered it and then started wondering why it was significantly less expensive than the etrailer version. Turns out it is a single tank version so I cancelled the Amazon order and will order from etrailer.

Once you get your new lid and install it with the addition of zip ties, then get yourself a bungee cord about a foot long and hook it on the bottom of the tank cover. As a keen observer of roadside debris I’ve seen at least a dozen whole covers in the ditch in my travels over the past 10 years. If the bungee is too long tie knots in it till there’s tension. When your feeling flush, buy a spare 12 inch propane pigtail and a jar of bubbles for detecting propane leaks. Use the bubbles when you change tanks. Like Donna D says, “ It’s a rolling earthquake out there”.

Our 2021 21NE came from Escape with a bungee cord attached on the bottom of the tank cover. :-)

I have the bungee. The trailer was delivered by Escape with it. I will add the zip ties and check for leaks after reconnecting tanks.

For a while the tanks were not auto switching. I didn't now why but lived with it. I didn't like the midnight trip to the propane tank to change tanks and then when I did I couldn't get it to work. One day I asked a fellow camper to look at it. He said it was the valve inside one of the tanks. After turning the offending tank off, disconnecting it, reconnecting it and turning it back on a few times, he got it to work. Was this something to do with the pigtail or was it the tank?
