Propane Leaks due to contaminated…

Propane Leaks due to contaminate brass fittings that leak propane while looking completely normal. Just passing on some safety info I came upon. Might do to pass along to RVing friends and family since manufacturers don’t plan on notifying folks until July.

that guy talked too much, didn't say enough, i cut him off.

i googled propane rv recall, only one I found was from a year ago (2021) and was specific to the Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator. I have a Marshall Excelsior regulator on mine.

Yes…there will be over 22,000 RV stoves recalled July 1st for bad fittings

If you get a recall for your Escape stove near the end of June, I would advise you deal with it before the July rush.

Well, in the time it took you to google it you could have watched the short video and found out how many and exactly what models these deficient propane fittings were installed on and that the recall wouldn’t be don’t until July, leaving people in the dark until them, possibly using a dangerous propane system. But, to each his own. 👍🏼

Most videos seem to be made so the host can be on camera and talk. I almost never click on the link. Most camera people think they have to move the camera because it's video. Most people shouldn't shoot video.

most youtube videos exist to be monetized. i hate talking head videos, I'd far rather read a transcript.

Thanks for the video. That's a little scary for sure. Doesn't look like it will affect the Escape brand hopefully.
You know how some people refer to tires made in China as China bombs?
Well these parts on recall for propane leaks were made in Indiana so will they be referred to as USA bombs?

My Sept ‘21 E19 has a Flex Tech manifold to the quick disconnect. Photo of MFG date and number attached.

I don’t discriminate. I dislike all bombs, no matter their country of origin.

The Flex Tech is the product in question and it is the Goshen product. I’m already looking into info on affected batches, and thinking about a simple gas coupler retrofit with a ubolt mounting while isolating the different mounting metals.

That's a little scary. Could these be used in other places also like to hook up the stove, furnace and hot water heater?
Hopefully you are able to look up the individual part and not just by the RV manufacturer.
I wonder if these could possibly have been sold in retail stores also?

I’ve not seen them for sale direct to consumer, but I certainly can’t verify they weren’t. My fridge does not have one. I have not looked at my furnace, but I doubt it. I need to pop it open and check some things anyway. My stove I installed. I’m not sure why this was used in a spot where a simple coupler would work except that ETI may just buy the hose assembly as one piece.

On my E19 it is just forward of the entry door steps. That’s where ETI placed my quick disconnect.

We are starting a camping trip. I will look for the manifold on our 2021 5.0. Not being technical, I am not entirely clear what I should be looking for.

We are still on our first cylinder of propane filled by ETI before delivery! So, I don’t think we have a leak

I’ve had no response from Flex Tech on how to determine if my trailer has a recalled model.

John, Glenn, anyone else interested--

This is not rv related but "most anything youtube/ video" on internet related.

There's a wheel cog at the bottom right of the screen, it's about fifth logo from the right. If you click on it, one of the choices is playback speed...click on that, and you get three slower and four faster speeds. You can get the info you want without listening to blah blah blah.

I'd say this has saved my sanity, but the jury's still out on that.
