Propane Quick connect and new barbeque search

We're sure liking our Weber Q1200, a big duffel bag to put it in, a 12 foot hose, and got this little cart to put it on: Weber 6557 Q Portable Cart for Grilling. Stores nicely. Got the brass fittings to lose the regulator as others have outlined but kept the old fittings to screw back on if we ever need to use small propane bottles again.

I found a propane dealer here in Denver (actually Wheat Ridge) with the expertise to know how to convert my Char Broil grill (eliminate pressure regulator) to work the quick connect hose provided by ETI.

Hi Lee,
We went with a Magma Trailmate, small and expensive, but very nice. It requires an extra-low pressure regulator, part #A10-219, to be purchased separately.

I have yet to find a small campstove that will connect with the trailer low pressure quick connect, however, so went with a Coleman Triton to be connected directly to one of the main-supply tanks. Coleman sells a 5’ hose with an adaptor to make this happen. On order, so I can’t vouch for it yet.

I use a Magma stainless steel bbq. It comes with a removable regulator for propane bottles, and there is a non regulator connector available for on board propane at an additional cost. Magma is made for boats, originally. Mine is the smallest they make, good for one or two people. I like it.

Bought a tee and the two burner Campchef ranger two burner stove. Blackstone dash instead of a BBQ, it’s much easier to clean and it only weights 18lbs. It’s very portable has wheels and a handle to pull it behind you. Got an extra hose and there’s a campchef connector you can buy for the quick connect. Got a separate valve for the Blackstone Dash. I ordered it all through Amazon . Love it!

Has anyone had an issue removing the regulator? My 1200 has what looks like a reddish loctite type compound on the connection or is it just pipe dope? Worried about stripping the threads on the gas control valve. How much torque does it take to break the connection?

I love the quick plug 'n play of the LP QC. I use it with my Dickerson Spitfire grill, Camp Chef Ranger II stove and Outland Firebowl fireplace. I have it set up to run any of the two at once, or can do one appliance 30' out.

I ove camp cooking and have tried a number of options. I started with the large camp chef two burner stove, griddle and grill iusing the ttrailer quick connect and still use that when I’ve got a crowd but it was a little much for the two of us. Then I got a Weber q1200 grill and griddle insert. I love this grill. It Cooks with such finesse. I’ve tried using the small canister, connecting to a 20 pound tank high pressure side and using the trailer QC with extension. Pressure from the QC seemed a little weak and the hoses all over the campsite were annoying. I’ve finally gone back to the original canisters. This stove is very energy efficient so a bottle lasts at least 4-6 major meals. I love the simplicity, freedom, and quick set-up anywhere. I may try something else in the future but for now this is my ideal set-up.

I have that same BBQ and the same table it's sitting on. I use the QC without a problem. What I did with the Nexgrill was add a GrillPro universal BBQ Lid Thermometer from Home Depot. Works great and less guessing what the temp may be.

We have a Weber 100. It is small with fairly uniform heat.
Remove the regulator with a couple of small wrench’s. Reconnect with some Teflon tape on the threads and ensure it is firmly reconnected. You are then good to go and it can be connected to your hose that is provided. We find no need for the 1 lb canisters

I had the same issue some years ago with our 19' Escape. The folks at Barbecue Country we're able to strip the regulator out of the portable barbecue I purchased and fitted it with the appropriate connections.
