I added a full mud flap to the truck from Rockstar https://www.agricover.com/rockstar/

It has a smaller gap in the center and reduces debris getting past the other style flaps.
Very happy with this setup, no more mud stripes all the way up the front of the trailer

I have pulled an r-Pod out and into Fairbanks from Gainesville FL twice now. If you stay off the haul road, north of Fairbanks, you will be running on pavement almost exclusively expect for patches of road maintenance. I have mud flaps on my TV and on the Pod to protect the sewer pipes and have not had any problems due to stone damage. The stone guard on the bottom front of the Pod shows evidence of abrasion from road debris, but nothing has stopped or slowed me down. Good luck on your trip!

We have been to Alaska 8 times, twice driving our E15B. One trip up the Alaska Hwy to Homer and back on the Cassiar. https://twohikers.smugmug.com/Alaska...htoAlaska2012/
On the second trip, we ferried to Skagway, and then drove from that point (and eventually back to Bozeman https://twohikers.smugmug.com/Alaska...on-2017-Part2/ Even driving 40 miles up the Dempster in a rain storm will get you very muddy. But all that said, the front of the storage box really protects the lower front of the trailer. Another thing: sure, you will run into highway construction which will slow you down, but that keeps the rocks from flying. Probably some mud flaps on your TV will help, but just plan to spend some quality time at car washes. Have a great trip.

I used rock tamers doing the north this year and still managed to put a golf ball size hole in my propane cover. They are heavy so packing them around to install later would be a pain and awkward.
