Pump accumulator

Forum,

I am considering adding a pump a accumulator.
https://www.pentair.com/en-us/produc...ator_tank.html

The fittings per the vendor website seem odd/different to me. They are 1/2" NPSM-Male". NPSM - national pipe straight mechanical. I would have expected NPT, but that is not what is here. Is NSPM what I have used on home faucet fixtures where the sealing surface is a rubber gland at the end face of the fitting? Seems when I search for NSPM at HD or Lowes, I do not get a clear answer.

thanks

I couldn’t find them around here either and resorted to some Shurflo hoses to get going. NPT really didn’t fit. I tried to get by local.

I noted in the accumulator installation instructions that they recommend setting the accumulator pressure to the pump cut-off pressure. Since the accumulator is shipped at 30 psi, did you need to add air to the accumulator or did it work fine at 30 psi?

Mine checked a little low with a pressure guage. I just pumped it up a little with a bike pump.

So did I. Just finished 3 days in the trailer and I noticed that I hadn't actually turned the water pump on. My wife had turned it on and used a bit of kitchen sink water from time-to-time but that was all. I wonder if anyone has ever studied whether pumps that don't have to cycle on and off for every little bit of water use last longer.

I believe you mean the cut-in or restart pressure (not to be confused with shut-off or cut-out pressure). This would be 40 PSI if you have the Shurflo 4008.

Makes more sense. Thanks.
