Also, to confirm, when playing the DVD the sound will naturally play through the stereo right? But for TV watching, you'd need to make sure your TV had a basic "audio out" jack (do all TVs have this anymore or was that hard to find)?

Thanks.

When we bought the TV, I didn't consider trying to get one with RCA jacks. I agree, having a TV with RCA jacks is a better solution than the RCA to HDMI converter.
Yes DVD's sound is naturally from the stereo, so I only connected one wire from the yellow, video, jack to the TV.
I think most TVs have a miniature headphone jack. That's the one we run the wire to the front of the stereo.

Finally got around to getting a TV for our Escape installed BOSS. Bought a 19" Insignia, and when I unboxed it, it had RCA jacks, so I ordered a short cable to connect to the BOSS. Not too impressed by the way Escape mounted it, and also, had to return the first unit to BOSS because the CD head wasn't working. So I have had it on and off a few times to access the back. Also, had to trim the mounting box so the RCA plugs would fit. Kicker is though that the remote control for the BOSS doesn't work, just ordered a new one. It's one of the cheapest things I have ever seen.
