Mike - were you able to get the frame attached well enough?

Thanks for asking Eric. The window is secure and weathertight... it survived the 1/2" downpour today without a leak. However the frame still isn't sitting flush with the shell so I am going to pull it again and redo it with the proper butyl. The clean-up which was the majority of the work the first time around should be much quicker this time.

After all the great advice I got on here the local RV dealer sent me down the wrong path with the butyl putty. He also told me just to tighten down the screws and the putty will ooze out... it still hasn't!.

Wrong stuff, and no it won't. He was just providing you with his best "guess-ta-ment." Don't fault him, his parroting. We'll make certain you get what you need. We have NO warranty or guarantee to worry about. We are just wanting you to be leak free... Remember, smooth tape, sticky as bubble gum...

I absolutely agree. When I had the same issue, I decided to pull the window out and it cracked by accident. So I had no choice but to install the new one (just in case of need I addressed a company Wonder-glass (https://wonder-glass.ca). I think it is better to solve the problem without pulling out first. Good luck!
