refrigerator drain hose drain location
While replacing the circuit board for our Dometic refrigerator in our 2009 Escape 13B we noticed a crumbling, broken 1/2" hose coming out of the back of the refrigerator. Apparently this is the water drain house from a tray inside the frig. I want to replace it, but can not find any place it drained out of the area behind the frig. Where does the water go? A manual shows a drain hole, but there is not hole in the floor area behind the frig.
Thanks for your help!

My 2014 had a drain hose. Maybe in your era they figured that the small amount of water would just evaporate in the vented area behind the fridge.

Ours drained into a little tray where the heat from the refrigeration process was supposed to evaporate the water. Since evaporation is a cooling process I figured that didn’t help the efficiency of the fridge so I ran the drain tube out the vent. Don’t know if it makes a difference but it makes me feel better:-)

The one you have in you home works the same, it hits the tray and evaporates.
Last fridge problem I had was due to that hose getting clogged up, which then creates ice in the freezer and then water on the floor.

Hi: kennethjhouse... Our drain line ran from the fridge to the evaporator cup clipped onto the black pipe for the refrigerant. The cup was supposed to prevent warm air from flowing back into the fridge, but the condensate water always spilled out during travel. I put a hole in a water bottle cap and routed the drain hose into the bottle. I put a kids water balloon on the end of the hose and snipped it to allow the water out of the hose but little hot air back up. For lack of a better name the fridge condom made the fridge work better when travelling. YMMV Alf

On a side note, I replaced the crumbly hose from the drip pan in the fridge with a silicone drinking straw. Works great and won't get crushed when you push food into the back of the fridge.
