I did. I'm taking my trailer in next week for the fridge to be serviced; among other things they will clean the burner. Thanks.

cpaharley, you got the manufacturer's name for the heat sensors, --- wow. After many emails with the customer service of Dometic, all I got was they don't have a dept. for assisting with what they viewed as a repair issue. Heat sensors and SN rating meant nothing to them. At our age we forget a lot of stuff, were afraid we might forget to turn the switch off. But switch it will be, will make some signs to put up when we are using it. Thanks so much for all the information you posted!!

You could probably find a lighted switch and mount it inside the trailer, might help jog the memory. Something like Jim B's electric hot water heater mod.

Found this wee mini-computer fan in a surplus store. Added a bracket with a little on/off switch, inside my RM8551--probably won't boost cold air circulation in there to any significant degree. For a couple bucks, anyway the doing was fun.

I bought this Articca "Snip-the-tip" adjustable thermistor awhile back --when working on my fridge, adding fans, etc. It has a tiny black temp adjustment wheel on its face. It works. I was willing to try anything back then-once I set it I forgot about it.

Have you room for beer in that fridge?

"...Have you room for beer in that fridge?"

Why else would I go for the smaller fan?

I do keep a few beer in the fridge, but most reside in our cooler. That way it is handier to where I am sitting while imbibing.

Maybe with a bit bigger fridge now though........

Ever since the 2013 refrigerator tragedy, I also keep my beers in an ice cooler rather than in the Fridge.

Anyone tried one of the Camco covers? They come down to meet the roof in the front, which may limit the amount of air heading down to the fridge when underway. They seem to get good reviews, not about their ability to solve our problem, but at least they seem to be easy to install and no-one has complained about how they function when parked.

Hope so, so far no one has complained, of course we have 1.5 feet of snow outside but spring will be here real soon.

I shorted the thermocouple with a jumper wire to get the fans to run. The fans do help. Any reason why I shouldn't let them run constantly? I have the two 6V batteries and three solar panels, so the small fans shouldn't run the batteries down.

Refrigerator Failing To Cool While Driving

Mike I've left mine running for weeks at a time while holidaying.
I like to start the fridge, turn on the fan and leave it running until I shut off the fridge.
I also have 2 six volt batteries and solar, it doesn't hurt to run the fan constantly

Cheers
Doug

I guess as long as you are using the refer the fans should be on, a switch just allows more convenience to the entire operation.

Thanks for the info. I'll just leave the fans on.
