it appears that Indel Webasto does not play in the adsorption / propane refrigeration arena, at least in the US market.

Several Danfoss/Secop choices

Thanks. We ordered ours via West Marine, and they delivered it to our local Austin, TX store. That saved freight charges. Many larger marine suppliers carry them. The Cruise 195 Classic is about 10-15% less than the Cruise 195 stainless.

We compared several Danfoss/Secop marine or RV compressor refrigerator/freezer combo units. The Novakool RFU9600 was our second choice, with a 22-3/4" depth. We liked the Vitifrego DP2600, but its smallest dimension is 23-11/16, which is too wide for the door. The Isotherm CR219 and CR220 were a few inches too tall. We looked at stacking individual refrigerator and freezer units.

Our choice met all our requirements: get away from the absorption design, fit into the original cabinet, a dimension less that 23 in. to go in via door, good power efficiency, solid marine/RV design, well insulated, at least 6 cu ft interior space, vent to rear instead of front, smooth front with no extended handles, actual stainless steel aesthetics we like.

Added a new thread for the installation.

What year is your Escape 19? 1st or 2nd generation. It does seem strange that they would install a refrigerator that you can't easily remove. Your new frig looks great.

We picked up our 19' on May 23, 2019. We went from delivery in Sumas, WA directly to the Escape Rally in Osoyoos. We are not sure on the generation number.

We have a 2018 Escape 19 and recently had to replace the large Dometic Fridge. The door trim had to be removed in order to exit the old refrigerator. It also required cutting and re-caulking. We replaced our 3 way fridge with a 2 way model which was about $700. cheaper than the 3 way model but still incredibly expensive at $2,475. CDN. We had to use a mobile repair service as local RV shops were not prepared to look at anything they hadn't sold. I am not impressed with the quality of the Dometic Fridge that only lasted 3 years.

Just got off the phone with Escape asking about what fridge might be a good replacement for the RML 8555 in my 2014 21C Yep, they put the fridge in on the newer style before they add the door! My door is only 22" wide so that really limits my options.

Replaced my RMD8555 one year ago with Dometic RMD 10.5XT and am very satisfied. Also glad I bought it then- it is now $3143 at Dyers RV- which is probably the best price available.
