A cord has broken on one of my window shades. I have a repair kit with all the parts needed to re-string it. I am not sure how to remove the shade, however - I have aluminum curtain rails mounted directly in front of the shade which limits my visibility and access.
I think I can see clips which look like they can be pressed and allow the shade assembly to drop straight down, is that how they work? If so I should be able to remove and repair the shade without having to remove the curtain rail...fingers crossed.
Two screws to drop the valance, and then 2 clips to remove the shade. Some of my shades were hard to unclip. The first time, I couldn’t really see the clips until I popped them. They can break, but mine didn’t.

Are you talking about the valence when you say curtain rail?
i've had to replace a couple of shades and remember removing the valence to do so. It is not hard at all to do this and they go right back up easily.
The shades clip into the aluminum clips and I used a flat head screwdriver to unclip- very much like with a mini blind in the house.
No, I removed the valances and have square metal curtain rails for roller hooks mounted directly in front of the shades. So if the shades unclip and go down to remove I am good, if they have to pull forward then I'll have to remove the curtain rails.
