Replacing awning fabric

Greetings

I have a 2013 19 and it’s time to replace the awning fabric. Have ordered the replacement fabric from carefree and have the manual on how to replace it. Looks like a fairly straight forward project, other than it being a big chunk of fabric.
If anyone has done this I would appreciate any tips/suggestions you may have learned.

Thanks

Dave

I just did this and 2 people can do it but having 3 or 4 people is much much better and easier. I found that sliding the tube onto the fabric goes much faster that sliding the fabric onto the tube . Have your helpers hold the fabric out straight and slide the tube. This is the way we did it and it took about 30 mins from start to finish .

Yes, get help, and have at least 2 6 ft step ladders. Watch some YouTube videos. Not too difficult.

Thanks for the replies. The carefree manual has me removing one end of the roller tube, unwinding the spring, removing the arm, and sliding the new canopy on. Seems there are springs at each end Of the tube. Agree that having help is the key. Time to see what u tube videos have to offer.

Yes this helped a lot! Good to know both ends of the roller can be removed and only have to rewind one. Looks easy enough that even I can manage it.
Thanks

Visited with Dave yesterday and saw his recently installed new replacement awning. He said Carefree makes them to order and it takes about a week to produce one. Fabric choices are varied but limited due to length. His is the same grade as the original but with additional protection of a flex guard top section. Prices depending on fabric grade, shipping. Got to check their website for particulars.

Have to agree his choice really looks great. Says the installation was easy with 3 people.
