Right Side of Sway Bars Attached to the Trailer Hitch Keeps Shifting

We have a Escape 21 (2019) and we have had to have the sway barb re-postioned twice. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening. The first time was when we came back from CO. We crossed the Rockies, had a small breaking issue which was resolved by down shifting the Toyota Tundra. When we got home (WA), we discovered the sway bar attached to the metal frame had shifted. We just returned from a trip to CA and discovered it has happened again. Thank you and be safe out there.

There's a lot of different brands and styles of WDH / Sway Bar hitch assemblies out there. Which make/model do you have?
Photos would help as well.

It sounds like this is an issue with the spring bar of a weight-distributing hitch system (WDH), not a sway bar. As already mentioned, more specific information would be required to give any useful assistance.

I suspect there’s a torque spec that might not have been met

It’s important to tighten the top and bottom bolts on the bracket evenly so that each. Side is parallel. That could be the problem.
