Rigid Spare Tire Cover
I've been thinking that I'd like to have a rigid spare tire cover like the ones on some SUV's. I went to the auto wrecker near ETI hoping to see and measure one. They had at least 10 RAV's and Honda's that might have been suitable but not a single one still had the spare tire cover. A lot of them had taken a big hit on the rear so I guess it was the first item that got crumpled.
Does anyone have one on the current 15" size wheels? If so, what type of vehicle did it come from?

Kind of looks like something a hot-rodder would put on their trailer.
I'll hold out hope for an auto wrecker solution. If they'd had them they would have cost a little less than those, $25 Cdn.

They don't give the RAV 4 tire covers away, even used, on ebay anyway.

I can see why they were all missing.

Molded Plastic Spare Tire Covers For RVs And Trailers By Surplus Online
I have one from them I have not done the brackets up yet. If you like PM me I will take a picture of it but I think you get the idea . Another RV maker uses the correct size I think Keystone so a dealer may be able to help you find what YOU want. :}

Thanks, great info with the dimensions. Looks like the larger size would be perfect. It's definitely an option. I'm running down Portland way for a couple of days to see the 100% eclipse and I'll hit up a couple of US auto wreckers and see if any suitable ones are available.
I wonder what "hair cell" means.

Hair cell refers to the surface texture of the plastic; has a uniform wrinkly appearance instead of being smooth. If it were perfectly smooth it would show scratches very easily. I use it occasionally with my products.

Thanks, same principle that I used on the interior of canoes with a spider web contrasting color gelcoat. Disguised the fact that the f.g. on the interior had some bumps etc.
Rats, about the hair cell texture. I was thinking that if I got one it'd be a good place to put one of those maps where you add states and provinces to show where you've been. Might be OK but I'd want to see one first.
