RMD 10.5XT install

Hello Everyone,
Like several other individuals that have had to replace their RMD 8555, we ordered and finally received the Dometic direct replacement RMD 10.5XT. There isn't a terminal block to land the DC power supply supply. There is a 12V buss plug on the back of the new fridge but no mating female plug to connect to our 12v power supply. Has anyone on this forum installed an RMD 10.5XT and can help us with the 12v wiring connections?
We've been on the phone for over an hour with Dometic and they are unable to help us. They will not allow their technicians to provide the information and directed us to the only Dometic service center for many MILES around. Funny thing...that service center only sells Dometic products they don't do installs. We are now stuck in a situation with a "direct replacement" refrigerator that has been primarily target for the European market but now being marketed for the US but without support from Dometic.
We are hopeful that someone on this forum can help us. In the meantime we are searching for a company that can handle the install.

thanks Donna;
sent a note to him. He had a tech do the 12v, so I'm hoping to talk to him and find out how to power it up.

I'm interested in learning whether you were able to get your Dometic RMD 10.5XT installed successfully. I'm considering purchasing one to replace an older Dometic frig that has been discontinued.

Thanks,

TK

Am probably the most recent install for the 10.5XT.

Ross,

Are you satisfied with your new fridge? Does it work better than the previous two fridges you have had?

I am still using the RMD-8555, and it works "OK" but thinking one of these days I will need to make other arrangements.

Hey Leon- yes, it is much nicer in build quality & performance. Two-way opening doors is great & they secure way better too. Only thing I haven't yet verified is if the DC cooling is a s good as Vin told me it is.

My only hiccup in the beginning was not reading the manual. At first glance it looked really useless, yet there was one nugget of info regarding switching modes I failed to catch.

This is the thread by Vin&Jan where Vin has very detailed instructions as to the 12V connection behind the refrigerator and the gas line hookup.
https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...5xt-21710.html

While I attempted his method of a copper gas line extension, my experience with leaks due to the short run & interference with the new fridges ammonia tubes led me to use a 22" hose. This is code according to a large propane supplier in this area who also has an RV service facility. Many newer RV's use them.
