Rusty storage box hinges

Small in size tho big challenge to put right for full repaint to box. Riveted, nooks and crannies, a pain to do. Has anyone attempted to restore and use a proper metal primer? Or tossed and replaced old and secured with screws?

I had tried to get rid of the rust with a product from Ace Hardware. It stained them and so when I re-coated the storage box with the material Escape uses I drilled out the rivets and bought new ones. You need to use JR Products as that is what Escape used and other mfg's. holes won't line up. Instead of using rivets to reinstall the latches I used small machine screws with nylock nuts.

Here is the thread on re-coating the box:

Edit: I wanted black, yet don't see the white ones currently on Amazon, however a seller on Ebay has them in white and for $7 delivered.

I bought 10845 vs 11845 as the former is white. Big bummer as its not even close to the original hinges. See photo below. Are these identical?

Those do not look the same as my JR Products black ones. The face is smooth whereas yours has ridges. Not sure about the offset.
