RVS-2CAM-AUTO Screen Going Dim

I love my rear view screen, but lately, it seems to be getting dimmer and harder to see the traffic behind me. I got mine in January 2017.

Has anyone had similar issues?

Hope your problem is as simple as mine was. I finally got around to cleaning the lens and WOW, what a picture.

Charles, I should have mentioned that I had done that, but I am going to double check.

Thanks,

Fred,
Aren’t those LCD screens? It could be that you may have to replace the monitor. Does it stay in the truck 24/7/365? If it does, you may want to change your set-up procedure to moving the monitor out of the tug and into the trailer. Constant exposure to UV is not good for many things. I’ve see.calculators with liquid crystal displays fade over time when they were left on desks and exposed to constant sunlight.

Good point. It does stay in the truck 24/7/365. I will follow up on that.

Fred: I don’t have this camera system but if you press MENU there should be an option for IMAGE that lets you adjust brightness, contrast and saturation. Maybe these got messed up somehow or maybe they can compensate if the screen is getting a little hazy? Have you tried this?

Unfortunately...yes. They have been tweaked, but to no avail. The screen remains dim.

Problem solved!

Silly me...I kept cleaning the lens, but not the sensor.
