Scepter Fuel Can

Any members have Canadian-made Scepter fuel cans they want to sell? They're not available in the US. I'm looking for up to two. -Tom

Thumbs up Scepter fuel

Hello this is my first post. The scepter fuel cans are available on e-bay. They are a little pricey.

If you're going to Chilliwack to pick up your new Escape, stop first at DS Tactical for Scepter fuel and water canisters and accessories:

Thanks, Yves. I've seen them on ebay and may go that route. Today the used ones available looked a little too beat up. I didn't see any new ones. -Tom

I guess you're not talking about this Scepter gas can which is widely available at Canadian Tire stores.

Why that one? Won't stand on it's own.

The Scepter 20L military fuel can (MFC) is exceptionally durable, can't rust because it's plastic, and expands as the temperature rises making it safer than a metal can, which can't expand. The Scepter MFC is used by NATO and others for these reasons. Individuals who have them swear by them. Possibly overkill on my part, but I like stuff that works well and lasts forever. -Tom

I expect the Scepter that I found at Canadian Tire has many of the same attributes. It just doesn't look "military". Hope it's "tactical".

The military design is made to fit in a bracket. Won't stay upright over bumps and around corners without.

Put them in a milk crate or just strap them so they don’t move

Why are we carrying extra 5 gallons of fuel outside of our vehicles fuel tank?

I do this as one never know when they may come across someone that miscalculated distance between gas stations and need a helping hand

I usually stop at every gas station anyways, so I don't bother with jerry cans.

We are seriously considering a trip to Alaska and with a 26 gal fuel tank, the distance between gas stations might be a problem.

It's either replace the 26 gal with a 46 gal aftermarket fuel tank (expensive) or jerry cans. I'm thinking jerry cans might be the way to go.

My F 250 4 by has a smaller tank than what i am used to.I carry a couple of those extra mil.cans at all times.Been caught in the desert a couple of times.Too far between gas stops.Mojave and such.Comes in handy. Not something you like to carry in closed quarters,
however, back in a pickup not a problem.
