Looking for advice on how to remove the screens on the awning type windows. They don't look easy to remove or replace without disconnecting the window from the window crank-out hardware. Is there a way that this can be done?
They just pop out. There are several wire spring retainers around the screen that pop into the window. Once you get the hang of how it goes in it is easy. First time is tricky to get lined up. But it really is easy, and the best way to clean a dusty screen.
If you don't want to remove the screen you can just use a toothbrush to clean it but in my case, you just need to push and pop it out so I really wash it with water.
someone somewhere suggested using a lint roller. i imagine if you're careful you could also use the small brush that comes with a vacuum cleaner. fwiw.
