Sharkbite on Reinforced PVC Tubing?

From the outlet side of our water pump (2017 5.0 TA) Escape used what they describe as "½” reinforced PVC braided line, see example here https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...C003/303132530 "

It is fastened at both the outlet barb on the pump and on a PEX coupler fitting (where it transitions to PEX pipe) with copper PEX crimp rings. The link Escape sent me lists the "braided PVC line" as 3/4" OD x 1/2" ID. Since it appears compatible with both PEX fittings and PEX crimp rings, I am wondering if anyone has experience using a Sharbite (push to connect) PEX coupler in this line? Thanks.

This might be of some benefit. Two Sharkbite fittings with a very short bit of white PEX between them. Then 2 reducers and a tailpiece to connect to the vinyl hose. (My expansion tank mod.)

You cannot use PVC braided line with Sharkbite push-to-connect fittings. They are made for PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT and HDPE pipe.

To explain this...

• most fittings seal to the inside of the tube or hose by clamping the tube or hose onto a smaller-diameter stub of tubing, with barbs on it to keep the tube or hose from sliding off, but
• the normal Sharkbite push-to-connect fitting seals a larger-diameter stub of tube to the outside of tube with an O-ring.

PVC (vinyl) hose is not stiff, so pushing a tube over it with an O-ring doesn't work - the hose can just collapse and lose adequate contact with the O-ring.

I appreciate the explanation. I was aware of the compatible products listing on the Sharbite website (see Rubicon above), but thought perhaps the braided PVC application was too obscure for them to mention. It appears that the braided PVC tubing generally costs more per foot than the same size PEX pipe and is not as durable, so I assume it is not widely used. The Sharkbite slip-on couplers appear to have a sleeve intended to support the inside of inserted pipe. Thanks again.
