Would not fit ours either because it dragged on the top and could not open the drawer without pulling very hard. Probably could have fixed it but just put the old one back in.Amazon.com: Camco 43508 White Cutlery Tray: Automotive

Now back to the 19' front shelf

Ok, as the beloved wife pointed out the tray sets on top of the drawer in Alf's picture.

For the shelf above the dinette, we bought some fake wicker baskets at Canadian Tire. They fit nicely in the space. 4 pretty much exactly fill up the width. When we want something out of a basket, we typically grab the whole basket and pull it down. This way we can store lots of little things, keep them handy, and not worry about them going ballistic during the tow.

Maybe I need a wicker basket for my dear wife.

We use the basket idea too. Cell phones by the 12v outlet up top, Kleenex, 2way radios on standby, paper and pens and misc stuff.

Did I hear that correctly? Are you calling your wife a basket case?

On some RV forum someone recommended baskets baskets baskets and she was right. Terry was thrilled when we got a small one that he could use for the things he takes out of his pockets at night. These things make a big difference sometimes.

No, but she does go ballistic when I drive, some times.

When cpaharley showed us his 21', I recall him having little cloth baskets in his overhead above the bed. Talked about loading with stuff in the house and then transferring to the trailer. Then you could pull out of cabinet to access. Sounded like a good idea.

Here you go, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
they come in different sizes depending on which cabinet you want to use. Small/medium/large are used.

We use lightweight plastic baskets from the Container Store for all our overhead storage. They're especially helpful for clothing stored over the bed area. It's a lot easier for to pull out three baskets (instead of the entire contents individually) and pick and choose what you need while your spouse is still sipping coffee next to you.

We use all sorts of bins and baskets to hold stuff in the overhead cabinets, especially over the dinette. They are great for not holding things together, but to pull out to find something in them, as opposed to rummaging through the cabinets. Our larger clothes, and our linens, are about the only thing not in bins.

We use 3 Sterilite bins in the area over the sink and stove. 1 Bin for coffee making "stuff," 1 for plates & bowls & 1 for mugs & glasses. They are down and on the bed as we do dishes together, but then everything has it's place when we are done. The pots & pans go in the bin under the bed. We took off the front wheels and place our thermos in front of the bin in "the gap" to keep the bin from moving into the floor when traveling over rough roads!

Thanks for the comments. I like the idea of baskets not only on the shelf above the dinette, but above the kitchen as well. Much appreciated.

We have almost the whole Escape full of bins and baskets and zip locks. I remember one guy who said that he put virtually everything in zip locks because that way much more can be fit in and also kept protected.
