Sticky Window Gasket

When opening one of our sliding frame type windows the rubber gasket pulls open with the window. I can separate the window from gasket and sort of maneuver the gasket back into place. But each time I open the window I need to repeat this procedure. My thought was to remove the window, make sure the edges are clean, maybe spray silicone on the gasket (?) and replace the window. After many different attempts to remove the window without success I'm turning to the Forum for help. Has anyone else experienced this sticky window issue? Is remove, clean and silicone the correct fix? Is there a trick to removing the window (and screen)?

Thanks, Ron
