Stove Top Swap?

Our 19 foot trailer completion date is in April 2018. Recently Escape announced “Effective April 1, 2018 Escape Trailer Industries will be installing a stainless steel 2 - burner cooktop (Suburban SDS2 - RV) as their standard cooktop).” So the previous stainless steel 2 burner cooktop is no longer being offered as of April 1st and we were wondering if there is anyone that is having a build completion in March that would like to switch stove tops with us? As a reference there is another Escape Forum thread started on this subject that has pictures of the new stove top called “Escape forced to change stove” (search that phrase). Please let us know if you are interested.

Thanks

Stove ignitor wires melting?

Is anyone having trouble with the ignitor wires leading to the burners MELTING due to heat from oven below? If so, what solution do you offer?

Your 19 has the oven and the heat is melting the ignitor wires in your 3 burner stove top? Any pictures would be helpful....

Is this the factory-available range with oven and three-burner cooktop? I have the same series of oven in two RVs, and although we have not used the ovens a great deal, we have used them and have not had this issue. I'll note that the oven vent must be clear while the oven is on, and opening the stove top cover (even if it doesn't cover the oven vent when closed) is probably a good idea, too.

Of course this has nothing to do with the non-oven stovetops that kimann is asking about, so it really should go in a separate discussion thread.

The Atwood DV20S is still available for purchase on the open market. If ETI doesn’t have any left then maybe you can have one sent to them. Personally I’ve had that stove and would recommend going with the newer Suburban SDS2 or opt for the Dickinson. The Dickinson is super high quality with electric ignition and safety features that turn off the gas if stove is not lit. I heard that ETI will install these in a 19.
