Stove vent cover
I've seen more sleek stove vent covers on newer models. More curved than the boxy style. I need to replace mine as the flap is damaged.
I've google & forum searched with no luck.
Anyone with a brand recommendation?

I did that mod on my 19. The brand name is Endura.
Fairly easy mod but you do have to do some trimming on both the opening in the shell and the range hood.

If you decide to change the vent, make sure to get the right one - Endura has several models.
Here is a link to one that fits our trailers.

Thanks for your input
Ron,
Your Endura reference got me on the right track.
And tdf....I did order the same model as you spec'd, off of eBay, at a much better price than Amazon or others.
Ron, are the cuts required for optimum air flow, or what? I don't use the vent, don't really care about max flow, just replacing and upgrading.
But I'm also almost itching to tear into that fiberglass. So that is not my issue. The metal above stove vent modification is just another thing to do.
You've been there, done that, and I could utilize your local knowledge, navigating this project. A description of your process would be helpful.
A phone call would work.

I think that this photo pretty much tells the whole story.
Yes, I removed some material to maximize exhaust flow.
1. The amount of f.g. removal is very small and it could be omitted. You can see the red line at the sides and top.
2. There is some vinyl liner in the area that is easy to remove and certainly gives better air flow.
3. The sheet metal in the range hood isn't an exact match for the new vent cover. That step could be omitted and would certainly make the job quicker.

I'm going to reopen this thread. My Vent is broken in such a way that I night as well replace it as I need to remove it to fix it.
Tom, did you remove any of the interior metal or vinyl? And do the holes line up? And how long did it take.
I've been in touch with Dustin at Escape and he stated that the flange set back for my 2017 is 1 5/8 inches and gave me a link for this as a possible direct replacement.

Here is a link to the discussion and Ron's pics of how much he had to cut to install the Endura.

No metal or vinyl removed, but 3/16" of fiberglass was trimmed to fit. Butyl tape covers old holes, new hole drilled.
It took an afternoon, but a lot of that was removal of the old vent....very well caulked in place, and clean up of the surface.

I almost forgot about the caulking removal! I think the vent mounting screws were just there to hold the vent until the caulking set.
I didn't put near as much caulking back when I replaced the vent - just enough to seal it.

Butyl rubber tape
I did not use any caulk at all. The butyl tape is great stuff, lasts very long and seals superbly. I guess I could caulk the top of the shroud cover, but don't see the need to "glue" it in place. It can be removable for replacement or cleaning of an internal vent outlet screen.
The butyl tape came with my Thetford vent kit. I was a few inches shy of having enough, but I had similar butyl tape handy.
