They look silver but they're probably just tinned with something.

Silver is a great conductor, but not commonly used due to cost. I reckon they're tinned copper.

Or aluminum because they're frugal.

I’d never use aluminum wire. Saw improper install without dielectric grease cause fires

Yes, I was mostly kidding around. That said I was actually planning an upgrade last weekend and noticed the silver color and aluminum did cross my mind though. It's actually a good conductor but obviously has some issues that a camper would not help.

I doubt that any factory has ever wired an RV with aluminum conductors, and my guess (just a guess) is that none of the devices (distribution panels, converter, inverter, etc) in an Escape have terminals rated for use with aluminum conductors.

There are apparently some aluminum conductors in some electric vehicles, due to the cost and weight of copper, but this is not a choice one should make without careful planning and design.

Yes, I agree they're copper. I'm planning a battery addition in the spring and had taken some pictures of my camper that's in storage. I looked at the picture when I got home (this was before this post) and I did do a little bit of a double take to decide that the cable wasn't aluminum though.
