Thermal Pane Window Replacement

I am getting a replacement thermal window for one that lost its seal and turned foggy. Has anyone replaced their thermal window? How did you do it? Is is difficult or straight forward. Any advice on your experience appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t suppose you’re in the one-year warranty window. We reported our window in the same condition before our one year after delivery date ended. The RV dealer did all the dealing with Lippert and they are replacing the window as part of the warranty.

As we camping and traveling in our Escape this summer and fall, I will check on local RV services along the way. Thanks for your informative reply

Hey Ray- used to surf O-Club back in the day! If you have a framed window it is not bad and am going to be doing one soon myself.

Thanks for the reply. The window is frameless. Have you heard of anyone replacing theirs?

we did ours (frameles, thermal) and it was quite straightforward. did some searching on you tube. toughest part was dealing with the blinds and valance. took our time. took pictures as we went so we had an idea of how the end product was supposed to look!

easier on the relationship than backing the trailer into a camping spot!

Thanks for your advice. I particularly liked the part about backing the trailer

Not that left, your other left. What do you mean south? I can’t see the Big Dipper it’s still light.
Then the exasperated profanity and finally the “walk off”. And that’s not a home run either. Have a great day and stay cool.

Gosh - thanks for this post and this forum.

We just came back from Idaho and one of my rear frameless windows shattered. I'm not sure why - we were having dinner outside. I came inside and heard that cracking window sound. I'm not sure if it had to do with the heat or maybe some little chip had been there in the first place.

I called Escape on Monday and was hoping to get a window shipped to me - fortunately, we're just a few hours south of these guys. But I haven't received a return call yet - hopefully the customer service is still decent.

Sorry to say, yet most likely you will have to order one and wait 5 weeks. Lippert bought Hehr and they make them special order.

When I contacted Dustin @ ETI weeks ago he inadvertantly gave me the part number you most likely need- a Framless awning split down the middle. He didnt offer to sell me one. Mine is a Classic with Framed picture window.

My AAA coverage will pay for it including install less my deductible. Good luck with your replacement.

Contact info for Lippert:

Not sure if they are delivering a trailer across the border soon and you could also deliver a window to you as well…if you are close.

Is that a bike handlebar in your picture? That is what broke mine.

The dual pane on one of mine failed under warranty in 2018. Escape sent me a replacement and paid for an hour of time to install--it only took a few minutes.

But that was back in the day. I hope you get it resolved now.

Did you hear back yet from ETI? I'm curious about the customer service too.

I have a bike rack, but the end of the handle bar that you see is actually about 1' from the body. I guess the angle of the picture doesn't make that so clear.

I've called and emailed Escape and nobody has called me back since. My first call was placed on Monday. I called again on Tuesday; I was told they were busy but would get back to me in 48 hours. Nobody called Wednesday.

We have a planned trip next week so I guess I was overly optimistic that I could get a window rushed to me this week so I could install it this weekend.

ETI parts dept: TBD but not looking good!

I still think Escape rocks, but I'm annoyed!

OK - finally broke through with Dustin. He had emailed me back and his response went to my spam He did say that he is on the phone pretty much non-stop in the summer and recommended email communications as I now learned.

My story will be a repeat of Rossue. Dustin said that they only order windows with each trailer order. I had hoped that maybe they keep a little bit of inventory.

I would recommend that anybody who needs a window verify the part number with ETI. Dustin told me that the part number for my entire window was V000505731. When I called Lipert, I only had a about a 2min wait. They will sell me just the broken window - that part number is V000580317. The window was $100US. Unfortunately, the shipping was about the same cost. I was told that they need about 2 weeks to make it, and a 1 week to ship. Not too bad.

Once I get it replaced and installed, I'll shoot an email out.

So duct tape will work until I get my replacement. At least we're in the dry season now.
