Toggle switch on bench frame???
Hi: Reace & All... What is the function of the chrome toggle switch mounted just under the service side of the dinette seats This may be a question...but then I figured "that would be the one I Didn't ask".
Neither a plumber nor an electrician am I.

Re: Toggle switch on bench frame???
That switch can turn the battery off when you are sitting for a long time. Prevents the wired in detectors from draining the battery. I almost missed seeing it when picked up our new trailer.

WHAT!!!!
However do you get room service then?
But, 'tis a great idea. On the trailer I have now, I pull the inline fuse which is a real pain.

Thanks for the info...I was going to call today and ask for a cut-off switch, as I have had dead battery problems in the past.

Re: Toggle switch on bench frame???
Me too Sandra. I would often forget to disconnect it, then the battery would get drained to being completely dead if I never used it again for a while, resulting in killing off a battery every couple years. They should last MUCH longer then that.

Re: Toggle switch on bench frame???
The battery disconnect switch is installed on units that either have dual 6V batteries or the battery mounted inside in a sealed box as they are difficult to disconnect the wires.

Re: Toggle switch on bench frame???
Question Rease,
When should you switch it to off? If you plug into shore power at home (which I always do) should you switch it off? Can you overcharge the batteries?

Re: Toggle switch on bench frame???
Hi guys,
Leaving the trailer plugged in with the toggle switch in the on position won't over charge the battery. the switch is there just to disconnect the battery so it maintains a full charge when you are not using the trailer and it is not plugged in. However, you should open up the battery box and check the water level at least once a year.
If the water level runs dry then you will have a the possibility of cooking your battery. (Reace's term, I am just the messenger)
