Trailer Insurance

For all of your Escape owners that have insurance...

Who are you using for your insurance carrier and how are you valuing the trailer for your policy? We have Foremost and they will insure up to the value we paid for the trailer or the current market value, whichever is less. Hence, since we paid ~$27 for our 2017 E19 and put ~$2.5k into it afterward, we could be compensated up to $29.5k for a total loss. However if we put our tailer up for sale, I suspect we could get ~$36k+ given recent online sales and a new trailer prices out at $41k.

Since Foremost will not allow us to increase insured value, we are considering options. Are they any?

Much depends on the insurance companies doing business in your state and the policy terms offered in your state (a function of both company choices and state insurance regulations, both which can vary widely depending on your location).

FWIW, in Texas, State Farm offers the option to insure to a mutually agreed 'declared value'; that's one way to address the current market realities and/or the value of mods added after purchase.
