What do you do with trash in the trailer? I presently hang a plasticv bag from a hook, bug I'm wondering if there's something better to do with it.

I bought a kitchen garbage can that is flat on one side. When traveling I secure it to one of the cabinet doors with Velcro. The Velcro isn't pretty, but it works to hold the plastic trash can in place. If the can is full or almost full I empty it before departing.

The topic has come up before and several people have come up with some good solutions.

Mine was to make a holder that holds a plastic garbage. It can lift in and out but because it has plastic bags in it normally the can stays in place and the full bag lifts out.

I went this route because I wanted it very close to the counter where most of the garbage originates. Kind of pop (it open) and drop.

Hangs on 3M Command hooks from door. Can be used inside and out. With layout of 17, it occupies unused space when the door is closed, swings out of the way when open.

Thanks all! Baglo's idea will work for us I think. We have too much stuff in the cabinert under the sink to attach trash there and if it was on the outside of the cabinet we'd trip over it. I don't know why I never thought of the trailer door before. So often when we'd be preparing food outside I'd need to go into the trailer to get the trash bag. Now it will always e accessible except maybe when I'm in the kitchen and the screend oor is vlosed and the trailer door is open, but I think I can work around that. Terry just put up the command hook for a plastic bag and we'll look around for the plastic trash container.

We also have a small galvanized pail that we can use outside next to food prep.

we're pretty far from Ikea I think -- in Bozeman -- but that's a good idea for when we get back. The outdoor pail is good for when we're not in national parks and all food related stuff needs to be stored in the car or the trailer. In the Tetons they were leaving love notes at people's campsites telling people to clean up better. Some people got notes telling them what a good job they did. We got neither.

How about comparing towel rack solutions. Oh wait, last time people preferred Glenn's over the door ones OK, I give up, back to scrubbing the sundeck.

A variation on a theme, but since we've had our 19', we've been trying to find a solution for where to keep our trash out of the way and to keep odors minimized. I recently stumbled upon the Sunbeam Trash Rack at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's only $20 and I suspect everyone receives their 20% or $5 off coupons in the mail so the net cost was only $15. The little white plastic pan on the bottom provides a firm base for the trash bag and there's a place to store additional rolls of bags (which BB&B also sells) at the very bottom. I used 3 long 5/32" pop rivets to attach it to the inside of the door and placed rubber bushings between the frame and the door to prevent any rubbing against the door. Seems like a pretty secure attachment.

Small plastic trash can from Target fits under sink and is out of site. We don't like having more trash than what fits in that. Empty it one time per day.

We do this too, which is perfect for us, as 90% of our waste is created outside, and this is much handier that having a can inside. I also added a set of hooks to the inside of the bathroom door, so if it is needed inside, it is real easy to bring in, and is out of the way for working.

We did have it attached inside a cabinet door, but found it too restrictive for using that space for other things.

We like the IKEA folding basket hanging on suction cups on the door! Love having it out of the way. It has taken a year to figure out the best spot to store everything. ��
