I'm wondering, if the fresh water tank holds 20 gal. and the hot water heater holds 6 gal. when I attach the hose to fill up with fresh water, does it fill both tanks or does the hot water heater draw from fresh when the heater is turned on? I'm planning on filling the tanks in the next week or two prior to a trip May 22. I want to ensure that my winterizing was adequate.

When filling the tanks, would it help to open a tap in the sink a bit to let air escape from the lines?

Hi: gbaglo... It's my understanding the water heater won't fill unless the hot water tap is open. The problem if you fill both fresh& hot tanks to capacity the grey water tank won't hold all 26 gal. You would have to drink a lot of water :P instead of beer...or dump some somewhere
