Me too, it also prevents lingering water from spurting out and making it look like you wet your pants while you coil it up and store it. Call it life experience.

Sometimes older people need to blame a leaky hose for the wet spots on their pants....gotta have an excuse

A word to the wise is sufficient! Hose clamps now on my list, thanks!

I like this idea but those with early classic trailers with the locking door on the water will not be able to do this. The door won’t shut.

Ours would. Maybe we used a more compact version of the quick release setup than what you’ve tried, but we had a brass male to male end that we left permanently behind the locking door. It just barely fit.

If you're getting leaks at the connector, double-check all of your female hose o-rings and make sure they're not missing or mangled. I've lost two or three over the course of a year, probably due to them sticking to the wrong side on disconnect and me not noticing. The threads on the hose connection are just to hold it in place, and the o-ring is what does the actual sealing.

I accidentally dampen my pants via water system accidents pretty often. Sometimes I notice folks looking at me funny. I ask them what they are looking at. Most turn their head and walk away. Some answer me. I just say “It’s hell to get old” and go on my way or with what I’ve been doing. Getting wet, greasy, Smokey, sweaty, and generally dirty are all parts of camping for me. Also ruining clothes. I’m only 9 years old after all.

I rarely am connected to campground water, and when I have been I have not had a problem. I can see old hose bibs causing trouble though. What you could do is to take a hose bib thread cleaner along with you to clean up the threads to better accept your hose. I have one I keep in my plumbing box for work but have never taken it camping, I only use at customers homes where there is an issue.

Other than a problem with the campground connections, there should not be any other water leaks.
Do remember to use a pressure regulator on the water line at the hose bib, as there are some that are high enough pressure to make threaded hose/pipe connections leak.
Also, check interior threaded connections for tightness once in a while. I did have one start leaking on the water inlet hatch, and a quick tightening (by hand only) fixed it up nice.

Really and truly, Escape Artist? I've actually seen one put to good purpose on a sump pump. And the hose was not able to escape it.

This set up looks exactly like what I'm putting together for our 21' that we pick up next week.
For the life of me, I cannot find the size of the input for the city water intake. I've checked the Owner's Manual and searched the forum with no luck.
Do you happen to know if the city water intake is 1/2", 5/8", or 3/4"?

City water intake is a standard 3/4" "garden hose thread"
