Water pump replacement

I need to replace the water pump on our 2016 / 21. Is there a better replacement than the Shureflow 4008 that came on it?

No, not in my opinion. And not for what they cost. Plus a new one is easy to screw down in the same holes and use the same hose connections. There is a rebuild kit for them too. I bought a new pump and a rebuild kit for the original. I haven’t opened the kit yet, maybe this winter. I’m busy camping now. Going out with my daughter and her family this weekend.

? How many years can a person expect to get out of a water pump?

Our 2014 17b has its original water pump. It’s never given us any trouble. I maintain the pump the way Reace explained in the Escape Video (basically cleaning the little filter screen. I guess we’ve been lucky never any dirt or sediment n the screen.

This year we’ve done 40 nights out so I’d say it gets average use.

Sometimes I wonder if I should just buy a new pump to have on hand

We have an estimated 500-600 nights in the trailer. I guess one of these days I should look at that little filter screen.

Both our 2013 19' and our 2013 15B are going strong with their original water pumps. My choice is to not buy any spares or replacements until an issue arises.

We’re only at 500 nights, so I guess we still have time.

We have always filtered any water going into our 5.0 and now carry a small water softener tank, but perhaps when I winterize next monthI’ll clean that screen.

Enjoy,

Perry

I changed ours this past spring. I am not sure why it would not pump. It
Was from 2013. I changed the filter cap, and that didn’t do it so I changed the pump out. I figured 8 seasons was pretty good on a pro rated basis.
