I'm really liking that Reace is doing these videos. It probably reduces the number of support calls/emails they have to deal with for these common situations and helps prepare the owner to deal with it if it happens.

If you have not been to ETI...he is standing in front of their demonstration area where most of the items found in your trailer will be on display and explained upon pickup. You can even see the awning mounted on the wall above him.

Oooh, nice. The bit on adjusting the pump definitely would have saved me some time and hassle about a year ago. Finally found some info, I think on Shurflo's site, but even then it wasn't clear what had to be done.

Question about “regular” maintenance re water pumps.

Reace advises (2:30ish min) that we should clean out the strainer every once in awhile.
How many of Owners follow Reace’s advice.

I’ve never done any water pump maintenance. The pump seems to be working fine. Used it for 4 complete camping seasons. I use an air compressor to blow air out of the lines. The pump seems to build pressure just fine. It turns on and off without issue.

Should I leave well enough alone?

I have never performed any pump maintenance either, course I have never filled up both tanks either. But if it ain't broke, why fix it.

If it works it's probably fine to leave it, but checking/cleaning the filter now and then might prevent future annoyance.

Excellent video. I changed the direction of the filter to upwards & cleaned filter. Found some plastic bits in there. Why does it need to be upright?

Not much to do except check the strainer, winterize and sanitize. Attached is what Shurflo recommends as maintenance for their 4008 pump.
