Water pump tube and caulking discolouration question

We are getting to know our new to us 19 and have a couple of questions. We did have a 17B but I don't remember seeing a tube and valve on the water line to the pump. What does it do?

The second question is the discolouration on the caulking, it was not an issue with our old trailer. Is there a way to clean it?

Thanks.

Some people like to winterize their whole water system by pumping pink stuff antifreeze throughout their water lines. They stick that clear tube into a jug of the pink stuff and turn the valve so the pump will pump the pink stuff rather than water from the fresh water tank throughout their water pipes and out the faucets and toilet. If you do that, be sure to first turn the water heater bypass valves so you don't have to first fill the water heater tank with 6 gallons of pink stuff before any is pumped through the hot water lines.

If you want to get fancy, of course, and really impress your neighbors, you can stick the clear hose into a bucket of beer and have the brew flowing out of all your faucets. Very impressive!

I like this idea, I have often thought of a draft beer outside set up with tap built in...... Happy Hour starts when the trailer stops.....

I use goo gone on the caulking cleans it really well. Be careful as it will take off the wax also.

Boaters technique

Some boaters use cheap vodka instead of the RV anti-freeze thru their water lines. Could also be mostly reused for next season winterizing. Some dilution, but I prefer to blow out the lines throughly.

Citrol degreaser works great on the calking.
