Weight distribution hitch

With my E2 hitch the front of my truck is raised 1”. Is this acceptable? The trailer isn’t perfectly level but not too far off.

I always tried for level across the entire rig, front to back. When I set up the E2 on our old bumper pull camper it took a bit to dial it in. Make sure you have your camper and tow vehicle loaded as you would for a trip.

I’m not equipped to mess with the truck-side of hitch but can raise/lower brackets on trailer if absolutely necessary.

That depends, 1" rise with the sway bars in place is acceptable if the front of the truck is lifted by 2" without the sway bars removed. You're looking for at least 50% of the total distance with the bars installed versus without the bars in place.

It'd be best for you to watch this video. The last half of the video shows what you want to measure.

It was 1” lower than unloaded without bars and the same with bars. I don’t have the torque wrench necessary to adjust the hitch but can move the frame brackets up. Will moving one hole be more than necessary? Should the adjustment be made at the hitch?

You'll change the holes, or in other words move the hitch up or down, based on the leveling of the trailer, not to alter the amount of weight distribution. To adjust the weight distribution you need to add or subtract spacer washers to the angle adjustment bolt. That's the center bolt at the bottom Figure 2 of pg9 in the owners manual, see page 17 - 20 in the owners manual for more adjustment info. Manual is Here.

Sorry, yes you're right I forgot to mention the tongue mounted bracket in relation to WD.

What is "it"? The top of the ball (hitch), or.....? Lower?

Luckily there’s a guy in Barstow where we stopped for the night called “Weekend Hero.” He raised the hitch head one hole and we’re dead level. On to the Mighty 5 National Parks in Utah!
