How do you think mounting the level with 3M Scotch VHB Tape would work? I'm where you were in terms of not wanting to drill holes.

I have had a bunch of plans to use with my 5.0TA, but have just used a magnetic torpedo level on the frame under the loft. This has shown to be super close to my countertop level, for us the most important for my wife when she cooks inside.

Parked where I want to sit, I check side to side and determine how much levelling I need, and whether I use Lynx blocks or if quite bad the Anderson levellers. With blocks I can get super close first try. I then go through the disconnect process, turn the level front to back and lower the trailer to level watching the level almost right in front of me.

Some day I will set up something better. I had intended to set up a levelling sensor with bluetooth signal. Maybe some day I will get that done. Until then, what I do is just fine.

I am one too that does not really worry hugely about side to side being exact, but do want front to back level as that is our sleeping direction.

this particular one, doesn't have much surface area on the back. if it had a solid flat back, I'd go for it.

re: consistency, I played with several in a camping store, this one has a metal ball that is pretty consistent in its repeatability. yes, it takes a few seconds to move a tick, but +/- a small tick is close enough to level for me. I actually like my trailer with the street side slightly low, and the nose slightly high, as the shower drains better.

The most important place in the trailer to be absolutely level in my opinion is the stove. Don't want tear shaped pancakes Luckily the outdoor mounted levels are pretty dang close to what the stove top is....

My level also did not have much surface area on the back to apply tape to. However you could make a backing plate out of aluminium or plastic and pop rivet or screw it to the level using counter sunk screws. Some double sided foam tape would be enough to clear the pop rivet heads so they would not touch the trailer. The new backing plate would give you plenty of surface to attach the adhesive tape.

A small glass of water filled to an inch or so from the top, placed on the kitchen counter gives you a true reading of whether the trailer is level north-south and east-west.

You can do the same with a smartphone level app.

To late to edit, but I mentioned (Post #20) my Bluetooth leveling device and referred to it as a Pitch Hitch. The words are backward; it is Hitch Pitch.

Just noticed your quote at the bottom of your post "What a long strange trip it's been". Love it.

Given that you have named your trailer Terrapin, I am guessing you are also a Dead Head!

I would have never guessed either of you for deadheads. If you level with a shot glass, use one out of a bar with the line on the glass. I always use kool-aid in the shot glass and I only drink Escape brand.
We use the factory levels on the side and rear of the trailer. When Rita is satisfied the trailer is right, I punch the button and shut the Highlander off and set the brake.

Bet you didn't know I'm ordained in Ohio so if you know any Buckeye's who need to get hitched let me know.

Two of my kids and my son in law are all Buckeyes. ( i know you’ve met Todd and Teresa). I’m not in need of a nuptials officiant but if you would use your good standing to influence the Buckeye basketball team for the rest of February and during the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments I’d appreciate it. After all they’ve got an Iowa boy playing for them this year and doing pretty well.

I use the THAR level. Never a complaint, always works.

Cruise a boat for a while and you won't sweat a degree or two off.

I would get the trailer as level as you can with what you have, then get a builder's level probably a 24" one and check a few spots on the trailer.
The belly band should be level side to side and front to back.
The trailer frame should be level side to side and front to back.
The fridge should be level side to side and front to back(you will want a small torpedo level for this).

After doing this you can adjust the existing stick on levels by pulling them off and resticking to match the more expensive builder's level.
