We will be ordering our 5.0 TA in the coming six months and have been reading all the threads on frameless vs framed windows. The first thing I do when we set up camp is open all of our windows wide - I love to feel like I'm outside - love the breeze and the sounds of birds, creeks, etc. We are going to order the framed windows I believe. I love the look of the frameless, but just can't get past the small opening.

Just remember the rear framed windows do not open whereas the frameless do open, although with a 3-4" opening.

Like Jim mentioned the rear window then does not open, and the difference in open area is very small. With the sliders you get less than half open, with the awning you only get about 3" along the bottom, but the sides too allow airflow with their wedge shape.
I have never had to fully open all windows with either style in my Escape 19 or the 5.0TA. We never have an issue with the sounds of outside as that is where we spend most of our time anyway.
This is my first trailer with awning windows, and I would order them again in a heartbeat. We just love how they look and operate, as well as the amount of airflow they provide. Plus being used in the rain can be nice too. Not a perfect window, but neither are the sliders. Both work great for going and making memories.

Slider windows have been around for a long time . They are used on high end Class A ‘s and other high end fiberglass trailers . We prefer function rather then looks . We also don’t want problems . This is the third RV with sliders . One a small motorhome 12 years , one a camper for 12 years . Now our Escape 6 years . Forgot had another camper with sliders making it 4 . When Escape starting offering them went on hot days and checked them out . That made our decision not for us . Many love them . We don’t . This is a very important decision so just make sure it will be right for you . Pat

Slightly off topic but relevant if others are thinking of replacing... Ok, our rear 5.0TA framed window is starting to fog. Yup, the big one... I'd like to swap to the frameless if they are the same size. Anyone happen to measure the frameless opening size? ETI can probably say if it would swap but shipping would be expensive so I have not bothered them. Or someone coming back from Osoyoos, thru Albuquerque might want to pack it home for us. Now that would be a huge ask so I've not bothered you all.
Question: who sells one of these things, preferably in somewhere in the southwest somewhere, besides dealers?

Good idea. I've had a house window fixed once. Seems doable.
