Thanks Eric.

I see one possible explanation buried in the procedures:

Perhaps Goodyear is assuming that significant load will be on the tires (the entire weight of the empty trailer, because up...

Ian, having seen photos and descriptions of your Boler, I am certain that you are more diligent and far more energetic than I am. I don't feel bad about not achieving your standards :)

Load/inflation tables are readily available. Since they are the same for all ST tires, you don't even need to use the one for your brand, as long as it has your size and load range. For instance,...

The part about the thicker sidewall is just bunk - every tire will build up excessive heat if sufficiently under-inflated. Always inflating to maximum is just the trailer industry's way to avoid...

Dexter says to inspect the bearings (which means removing not just the wheel, but the hub) and of course to repack them since they were taken apart. The E-Z Lube system does nothing for this...

Even with E-Z Lube or equivalent, since there's no need to use it (ever), and no reason to use it more than about once a year, I don't think pulling the wheel off is so bad. :)

I agree, but the difference in the tires might cause the trailer to track a little off-centre. No big deal, but that could induce sway at higher speeds, so I would treat the mismatched pair of tires...
