While there is something to say about the lightness of the maple, the oak is a warmer colour. Either is a great choice and you will love the oak look.

I like this as much as glass. If you do a search, there is lots of vented grille designed for this use. We have used it on cabinets before. You would remove the plywood panel, and silicone the grille...

It would be good to get good clarification from the top. It certainly looks like the back wall of the galley is white, just as on the gable, and it only makes sense. Could be not all staff...

I like the maple as it is lighter than the oak. The doors in a year or so will develop a patina that will closer match the panelling. The glass in the doors is not too bad, but I still like a solid...
