For what it's worth, the valences aren't fancy: made of wood and fastened to the overhead cabinets with long wood screws. If you wanted to add them, you'd probably want to reinforce the cabinets...

I made these dragonfly lace curtains for our Casita. Three sets, which are perfect for the windows of our 21's dinette.
